Practices and resources

A place to experience the path

Short practices so that what we understand can be recognised in experience.

A woman with closed eyes lying on a dark stone slab

These four practices follow the movements of this approach and can be taken as a path. In lived experience, however, that path is rarely linear. We can return to each of them whenever life asks us to come back to the body, to stay a little closer to what we feel, or to recognise once again the space that lies beyond our usual response.

The audio practices are guided in Portuguese.

Four movements

Four ways into experience

Each practice draws close to a different moment of the path. They can be done separately or followed in sequence, noticing where it may help to stay a little longer.

01 · Feeling

Bare feet resting on moss and ferns, beside the hem of a slate blue dress

Returning to the body

Audio in Portuguese · about 10 minutes

A short practice that lets attention come down from the head to the breath, to the heart, to the sensations in the body and to the feet resting on the ground.

There is no need to look for a special sensation. Simply begin with what is already here.

02 · Listening

A woman seen from behind by a forest pond, with dark hair and an undyed dress, feeling the water and the plants around her

Listening before acting

Audio in Portuguese · about 14 minutes

A practice for recognising what happens inside us when something touches us, and for allowing a few moments of space before we respond.

Listening does not require finding an answer straight away. Sometimes a few moments of presence help us see more clearly what is happening.

03 · Recognising

A clay bowl on a jute mat, with sunlight filtered through leaves on an earthen wall

Allowing what is present

Audio in Portuguese · about 14 minutes

A practice for recognising what is present in experience without trying to change it straight away, staying in touch with the body and with the space that is always here.

Not everything that arises needs to be resolved. Sometimes the first gesture is simply to recognise that it is here.

04 · Embodying

Cupped hands gathering water in mineral and aqua tones

Bringing presence into life

Audio in Portuguese · about 14 minutes

An integration practice for bringing presence into conversations, choices and the small moments of everyday life, so that what we recognise can find expression in the way we live.

No big change is needed. A small gesture of presence changes the way we are present in a situation.

Returning

A path we can return to

These practices can be followed in sequence, but the path does not end when we reach the last one. Experience is always changing, and so is what needs to be felt, listened to or recognised. Returning allows what at first appears only for a moment to find, little by little, more room in the way we live.

What we recognise becomes a path when it finds expression in life.

If you would like to continue on this path, the Comunidade Transformação Profunda (Deep Transformation Community) is a space to do so together with others. Its gatherings are held in Portuguese.
